Living for fun

For those who do not know Linus Torvalds,he is the sachin tendulkar of geek(programming) world.The guy who built the phenomenon called linux.I read his book
"just for fun".Its an auto-biography.



At the end of the book he explains his view on life.He says there are basically 3 motivations for people to do what they do:
1.Survival:-undisputable
2.Social relations:-to get respect.honor,admiration etc People go after wealth and power for this reason.People give up their life for greater cause because

of this reason.
3.Entertainment/fun:-People do something because its fun.Can you believe it?just fun.Einstein did what he did because it was fun for him.Linus is a

geek,cause geeking is fun for him.



I guess thats the difference between a genius and others.We people do things for first 2 motivation,a genius does it of 3rd reason.



Good.I feel this is the ultimate phlosophy of life.Simple,yet profound.
