This a nice movie i saw last week on HBO.Its a politcal thriller,in apartheid-era South Africa, based on a true story. The screenplay was written by Shawn Slovo.
The storyline goes like this ....an apolitical young man patric is arrested and tortured by white police suspecting he is a terrorist.His friend is killed by police while questioning and his ife is also tortured.
At last when he becomes ready for confession ..to admit a crime he didnt commit he is set free....
Coming out of custody he is filled with rague,he joins the frredom movement and
becomes a terrorist.He tries to blow up a factory where he once worked.his attempt fails and he gets caught by the police and put in for life imprisonment...
Story has a touching climax...where south africa becomes free and patric returns from jail as a hero..
the role of patric chamusso is played by Derek luke..Tim Robbins appears as the police officer who makes patric aterrorist and later catch him.
